My movement coaching offerings are rooted in an understanding of the body’s relentless capacity to adapt to our circumstances, to digest and integrate experiences, heal and transform. Our bodies are designed to structurally support us in doing what we do most often, even if those patterns are dysfunctional, causing pain, or limiting our capacity for flexibility, stability, resilience and presence. What does curiosity, inquiry and space allow into emergence?

Generally, my coaching style consists of supporting clients in developing somatic awareness practices to increase their sensitivity to the body’s natural feedback mechanisms. I offer strategies for releasing tension, and ‘loosening’ the ‘shape’ that the body has adopted which may impede the changes that a client is looking for. From there, I work with the client in developing functional movement exercises, patterns or phrases, that would allow the experience of a different ‘shape’ of embodiment to take hold.

My approach is informed through Somatics, trauma education, crisis counseling, and years working intimately with the body in motion, with injuries, pain, and unprocessed emotions. My practice has develop in sensitivity through nearly a decade of trainings in Improvisation, Contemporary Dance, Contact Improvisation, release technique, functional movement, Axis Syllabus, Qi Gong, and Hatha Yoga, in addition to professional trainings in orthopedic manual therapy, shiatsu, aquatic therapy, kinesiology and movement/dance facilitation.
